Is There a Market for Spent Rifle and Pistol Shell Casings ?
I've got a bout 5 lbs. of miscellaneous, good used condition shell casings and was wondering if there are buyers for these, etc. I live in an area where hunting is very popular and thought that maybe I might be able to unload these in my area. Calibers range from .22 to 9mm to .45 to 30-06, etc. Thanks for any input!
There is a very decent market for used pistol and rifle brass. The brass that you have sounds quite desirable with the exception of the .22 cabliber stuff. You cannot reload .22 and it is so cheap that it would not be worth it. What you want to do is seperate out your calibers, by 9mm, .45 etc., you may then want to seperate out by headstamps (which are the manufacturers). There are many people who will only reload certain brands, but I reload any brand of .223 remington, .380ACP, .45ACP, etc. What you want to do it group them into 50 rounds or more of each and go on Gunbroker.com. I just paid $55 for 1000 of mixed headstamp .223 brass shipped to my door, so yes there is a market and I guarantee you that you'll find a buyer. As for any spares that you have keep in mind that it's brass and scrapmetal companies will love it! Good luck!
